Meet and Exceed Expectations

Four years ago I was elected first selectman in Madison. In that time, I’ve worked hard to meet and exceed the expectations of the residents of our town. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot and met some wonderful people.

I’ve been privileged to have attended many American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars dinners and induction ceremonies as well as Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day observances. A singular project that I’m very proud of is helping to create and dedicate the Gold Star Family Memorial in the Memorial Garden near Memorial Town Hall. I’ve also been honored to have attended many Boy Scout Eagle Scout Award ceremonies as well as Gold Star Awards and Bridging Ceremonies for the Girl Scouts. It’s inspirational to see what our young people are achieving.

Across the state, I’ve worked with other town leaders in leadership positions on the Connecticut Council of Small Towns and the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, where we have stood up to various legislative initiatives that would have hurt our town. And we’ll continue to fight for fairness for towns across Connecticut. Along the way, I became a certified Connecticut municipal official by completing the educational requirements of the program.

I’m proud of the fact that we’ve paved almost twice as many roads in town over the past four years than we did in the prior nine years and that, in the last two years, we have cleaned every storm drain in town. I’m also proud of the fact that we are finally moving the Academy School issue forward for a vote after 15 years.

I’m asking for your readers’ votes on Nov. 5 for me and for the Republican team so we can keep Madison strong.
