Diligence and Caring

I am writing to share my enthusiastic support for Laura Noe for Branford’s RTM.

I have known Laura Noe since we were room parents for our 1st-grade sons at Sliney School, 15 years ago. We have traveled together, volunteered together, cooked together, and started a book group together. Over these many years, I have known her to be rational, thoughtful, determined, focused, warm-hearted, and very hard-working. Her most remarkable example of diligence and caring was when she convinced her formerly homeless brother to receive mental health care, then over the course of two years navigated the social services network to get him the help he needed. Today he is a productive member of society, employed full time, healthy, and living in a house, because Laura was determined to get him the help he needed. She periodically presents her brother’s positive story of the importance of crisis intervention for the homeless and mentally ill to police departments throughout New England.

She would bring to the RTM a background in corporate sales and marketing, job experience in small town municipal government, experience with the Branford school system as a short-term teacher, and experience as a homeless and mental wellness advocate. Her Branford-related volunteering has been as the creator of Branford’s First Amendment Wall and as a member of the Branford Green Committee, Branford Early Childhood Collaborative, and the Branford Micro-fund.

She has already contributed many hours of service to Branford. I encourage your readers to vote for Laura Noe for RTM in the 5th District so that she can continue to make a positive impact in our town. Like she did with her brother, she’ll listen to what residents have to say, then act upon it.
