Willing, Able, and Well-Prepared

I am proud to support and encourage your readers to vote for John DellaVentura for a four-year term on the Board of Education on Nov. 5.

John’s involvement with many local civic organizations and boards including Guilford Center for Children and the Guilford Land Conservation Trust has given him experience and knowledge by working alongside many others to support our town and fellow citizens. His job as a general manager in the IT industry, interacting with customers and suppliers will bring another valuable perspective to the Board of Education.

John is respectful and does his research to be well-prepared about the issues he will be discussing and acting upon. He received his B.S. from Northeastern University in 2003. With two children in the Guilford school system, he is passionate about maintaining and improving our school system for the benefit of all children. In addition, he and his family have created a nonprofit organization called Roots 4 Relief. Roots 4 Relief empowers local children to take an active role in our community. Together, with assistance from our community, Roots 4 Relief has made substantial contributions, including the donation of more than 250 new bicycles to underprivileged children in the community.

My tenure on The Board of Education concluded in 2013 and provided me with a wealth of opportunity to contribute to the future of our town and our children. John and my daughter Sarah grew up in Guilford together, going through the Guilford Public School system, benefiting from dedicated staff, administrators, and a multitude of opportunities. While I’m proud of what our school system was and is, I’m excited to have our next generation be willing, able, and well-prepared to assist and lead our school system forward.
