That True Professional

It’s election time again and we have an excellent candidate for our Board of Finance in Robert Hartmann. Looking after our town’s finances is a serious business, and has enormous implications for our services and our tax bills. We need a true professional on the board to ensure our tax dollars are wisely spent. This becomes even more important now, with the state making serious cuts to the funds we receive from Hartford.

After decades of experience working for well known worldwide financial institutions, presently Bob owns a tax preparation business in town, and he is that true professional we need. As a native of Guilford, Bob truly loves this town, and with four generations of his family living here, he has every reason to want the very best for our community.

As well as his professional experience, Bob has demonstrated his commitment to our town through his many years of volunteer service. He has served our town in various capacities, such as the Town Pension Committee and Facilities Task Force. Additionally, he has served non-government organizations such as Guilford Community Fund and Guilford Foundation, as well as Rotary Club and Guilford Keeping Society, where he served each as president.

Despite having such a direct impact on us, elections for local officials often sadly receive a poor turnout at the polls. Bob has a list of proposals that deserve support and that he will work to implement. These will strengthen Guilford’s fiscal health and will be to the benefit of all.

To ensure we have the best professional managing the finances of our town, I hope all concerned voters will elect Robert Hartmann to Board of Finance on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
