Professionalism and Civility

My name is Star Rueckert and I am a candidate for the Parks & Recreation Commission in Old Saybrook. Every two years, municipal elections occur in which require many community volunteers to put their names up for office. It is one way to make a difference in our town.

This year, in addition to supporting First Selectman Carl Fortuna, Selectman Scott Giegerich, and Treasurer Bob Fish, I fully support the experienced candidates we have running for Police Commission. Susan Quish, Jeff Jordan, Carl VonDassel, and Joe Maselli will bring professionalism and civility to this high-profile board. Their business experience and dedication will assist the public in having a better understanding of how this board should function.

Additionally, Carol Rzasa, Rick Swan and Tom Stevenson will continue help our town find its financial way on the Board of Finance. As part of the Republican slate, it’s great to see that these citizens have come forward in the service to the town. On Nov. 5, I encourage your readers to vote for the best slate our party has put forth in years.
