Knowledge, Dedication, And Demeanor

I am Catherine Staunton and I am running for re-election to the Board of Education. I was appointed to the board in 2018, and quickly dedicated myself to the position. I have an excellent attendance record at meetings and also serve on the Budget and Finance, Instruction, and Wellness subcommittees. I am seeking your readers’ votes because I understand the social and economic impact education has on our community and know that I can continue to serve all of Clinton in this position. Prior to my service to the board, I was a 10-year board member of the Clinton District Wide PTA, where I was became fully versed in all aspects of our education system.

As a parent of three children who have been educated in the Clinton School System, I am proud of the many strengths and achievements of our schools. At the same time, I am also aware of the many concerns and suggestions that readers may have as parents and community members. As a board member elected by the public and representing the public, I will work hard to ensure all parties are heard.

I am a graduate of Northeastern University and work as a physical therapist serving mostly seniors in our community. I know firsthand the economic struggle that many are facing and will ensure that we provide a top-notch education but keeping in mind every dollar counts. I also have many years of leadership, retiring after 20 years of service as a Naval officer in 2014. I am confident that my knowledge, dedication to service, and calm demeanor will serve our community well.
