Experience, Temperament, and Concern

I am pleased to endorse Justin Murphy for election to the Board of Finance. I have known Justin since 2014 when he returned home full-time to his native Madison and rejoined our local council of the Knights of Columbus.

Upon returning home, Justin immediately immersed himself in many charitable activities serving Madison and the surrounding communities. Always willing to pitch in whenever and wherever needed, Justin was soon asked to lead the local Knights of Columbus council as grand knight, following in the footsteps of his father, who helped start the council in 1965. Justin was also elected to serve on the parish council for St. Margaret Church, and has volunteered and provided financial support to local charities including Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven, AARP Tax Aide, Community Services of Madison, and the Madison Senior Center. Furthermore, seeing local needs that were not being met by these groups, Justin started Helping Hands Ministry to provide much-needed handyman-type services and medical appointment transportation to Madison residents in physical and financial need.

In addition to his volunteer activities, Justin has the financial experience gained from his degree in business administration from UConn, followed by a 20-year career with J.P. Morgan & Co. that is well suited for the work of the Board of Finance. I am confident Justin has the experience, the temperament, and the concern for all residents of Madison to be an effective member of the Board of Finance and I hope your readers will join me in voting for Justin on Nov. 5!
