Effective, Responsive, and Affordable

I support the slate of Democratic candidates running for the Old Saybrook Police Commission. All four candidates, Loraine Cortese-Costa, Adam Ladd, Dan Moran, and Alfred (Chub) Wilcox, will consider the good of our Saybrook community ahead of partisan politics. There is no need to expound on the importance of the Police Commission. I encourage voters to review past commission meetings using the Old Saybrook website video library to become informed.

The four Democratic candidates support engaging independent experts to help evaluate the organizational structure, staffing, and costs of the department. We all want an effective, responsive, and affordable police department for a town our size and levels of activity. These candidates support establishing a fair process to evaluate the chief of police’s performance annually, recognizing and rewarding his accomplishments, while identifying possible areas for growth and improvement.

Before residents vote, I encourage them to review past meetings at (www.oldsaybrook.gov) under Police Commission, Police video library. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Loraine Cortes-Costa, Adam Ladd, Dan Moran, and Alfred (Chub) Wilcox on Nov. 5.
