Appreciated and Admired

This letter is written in support of Patricia A. Brown, an endorsed Democratic candidate for the North Haven Board of Finance. In the more than 20 years I’ve known and worked with Pat, she has always exemplified the most professional of attributes. In both her professional and volunteer careers, Pat’s ability to calmly listen and help reach consensus on sometimes contentious issues has been much appreciated and indeed much admired.

Never making snap judgments or decisions, Pat thoroughly researches all sides of an issue. Her skills speak for themselves. Whether tasked with organizing and running the Special Olympics World Games Auction and all of its disparate parts, serving to raise funds for HIV/AIDS programs in New Haven, or chairing the highly successful North Haven Democratic Town Committee Earth Day presentation, Pat has brought all her skills to bear resulting in outstanding and rewarding outcomes.

The UCLA AIDS Institute required all of Pat’s considerable skills in finance, budgeting, and people management. Her Yale career began with setting up and administering the Yale Institute for Biospherics Studies, a cross-university nascent and now nationally known multidisciplinary center. Pat was the administrative director for the Department of Economics at Yale University. Her purview included complicated budgeting for the department and associated programs. All these accomplishments required strong financial skills.

I firmly believe there is no stronger candidate for North Haven’s Board of Finance.
