A Valuable Dimension

My name is David Lee and I’m writing to endorse Rob Derry to remain seated on the Clinton Board of Police Commissioners for a four-year term in the upcoming Clinton election. Many who know me know I served on the police commission from 2002 to 2011, most of which as chairman. My service on the commission was a proud and humble time for me, one I held dearly.

It was a time where I learned and observed the dedication, the pride, and the honor the men and women of the department hold dearly and the value they bring to the town of Clinton. The police department plays a major role in the development and balance of the fabric of the community in ways never seen or realized by most. As such, solid representation, leadership, and support is a critical component that comes to the department from the people through the five-member elected police commission. The five-member board plays an important role in balancing the critical needs of the department with the needs of the town and community.

I’ve known Rob Derry for many years and believe he brings extremely valuable experience that can help create and maintain that balance. Rob has nearly 30 years of experience in the Connecticut State Police, 15 as a supervisor. His 30 years of law enforcement experience, spread across local and state assignments, including patrol, administration, budgets, and nearly all operation-related functions, will add a valuable dimension of dynamics to the commission. I encourage your readers to join me in supporting Rob this election and keeping him on the commission for another four years.
