A Sincere Interest

Selectman Scott Murphy treats all Madison residents fairly regardless of party and deserves our vote.

The United States Constitution does not mention political parties and in fact, our first president was not a member of any political party. Although concerns about the development of political fractions may explain the absence of even a mention of political parties in our founding documents, the two-party system has dominated modern day politics and polarized the country on multiple issues. Once elected, our government officials need to be reminded that they represent all constituent voters, regardless of party.

Scott Murphy has demonstrated a sincere interest in helping all constituents and has supported issues important to both Republications and Democrats. Scott respects different points of view and civility in debate and advocates for his constituents. Scott has shown transparency, accountability, and the ability to take time to understand all perspectives on important local matters.

I have seen Scott’s genuine interest in helping others and his leadership on important issues including saving Academy fields, ensuring we have the best public schools, keeping Our Lady of Mercy in Madison, and supporting local businesses. Scott is a caring individual who has demonstrated that he represents all voter interest and I encourage your readers to vote for Scott Murphy as selectman so that he can continue representing all Madison residents.
