A Consummate Professional

I write this letter to encourage the voters of Madison to take advantage of a great opportunity this November by voting for Peggy Lyons for first selectman. We simply do not often see candidates of Peggy’s caliber.

I have known Peggy for several years now and am continually impressed by her demeanor, intelligence, and thoughtfulness, all attributes we need in a first selectman. Peggy is a consummate professional: Her successful Wall Street experience translates effortlessly to Madison’s Main Street. She may have cut her teeth in the city, but if you know her, she’s all about our town. Her background in finance and her understanding of the advantages that creativity brings to stale approaches will be invaluable to Madison, especially as we tackle critical issues in the near future. We need this.

Peggy is more than an accomplished professional. She gets things done. I have seen (more than once) Peggy take a roomful of squirrels scurrying in every direction and turn it into a group of people excitedly heading in one direction. How does she do this? By listening intently to all views, by respectfully considering all positions, by offering her thoughtfully considered ideas, by focusing on resolving issues and getting the job done, and by working hard to seek common-ground or compromise to attain consensus, or making the tough decision when she needs to. In other words, by her natural leadership.

Peggy is a doer. She will act thoughtfully; she will not react impetuously. She will work hard here in the First Selectman’s Office in Madison for the needs of all of Madison. She is looking forward to serving our community, and putting us first.

Peggy is perfect for Madison. Let’s make this happen!
