We Turned a Page

I have lived in Clinton for 45 years, and I have always been involved in local service. When my three children were growing up, I taught CCD at St. Mary’s and coached Little League and American Legion baseball. I attended every sporting event and concert, and I watched my children grow and thrive in the Clinton Public Schools.

I am proud of those three children, who are now successful, happy adults. I am proud of my nine grandchildren, three of whom are now at Joel and Eliot schools. I am proud of 50 years of marriage to my wife, a retired Clinton teacher. I am proud to be a Vietnam veteran, and I am proud to be a candidate on the Democratic ticket for a seat on the Town Council.

When I retired from a career in banking, I became active in town government. In the past I have served as chairperson of the Board of Finance and on the Capital Expenditure Committee, the Bonding Committee, and the Police Pension Committee. All of these experiences prepared me for a seat on the Board of Selectmen, where I have been serving for the last two years.

Two years ago, this town elected a new leadership team. Together we turned a page and have focused on good government, strong ethical standards, and economic development. The transition to a town manager is a concept that I endorsed before I was elected. And now I stand for election to the Town Council, so that I can see the change in government come to fruition. I would be proud to serve Clinton for the next four years on this very first Town Council.
