Sensible, Responsible Planning

J. Hartmann, Jr., candidate for the Board of Finance in our upcoming local election, stands for preserving and sustaining the special character and culture of our town through sensible, responsible planning. A local business owner and Guilford native, Bob has assumed leadership positions in civic organizations including the Guilford Keeping Society, Rotary, the Guilford Foundation, and Friend of Guilford Youth Mentoring, proving his commitment to our community values of cherishing our history and taking care of our neighbors.

His participation in local government including the Town of Guilford Pension Committee and the Facilities Task Force demonstrates concrete action on his belief in responsible planning for the future. All of this work has formed Bob’s in-depth understanding of Guilford’s strengths, challenges, and needs. Bob will contribute the tools he has acquired through a 40-year career in finance to a board composed of dedicated professionals from a variety of backgrounds—but none from the finance world.

Bob’s roots in our community, his financial background, and his demonstrated focus on preserving the special character and culture of our town qualify him to serve our interests on the Board of Finance. In an election that isn’t about Washington or Hartford but only about making Guilford better and stronger, I encourage your readers to vote for Robert J. Hartmann, Jr. on Nov. 5.
