Real Leadership,Competent Management

I’ve been residing in Madison for just seven years and have grown to love this wonderful town more every year. Our schools are excellent. Our high school is highly rated. Our athletic programs are excellent, and I’m very thankful for the Unified Sports Program for children with special needs. I especially appreciate observing First Selectman Tom Banisch at the year-end banquet giving a big thank you on behalf of the town to an incredible staff of devoted teachers and expressing sincere words of encouragement to all the student participants.

We have an excellent Police department as well, which is managed by an excellent police chief. Have you noticed lately that very few people ever exceed the speed limit by more than two or three miles per hour? This makes our roads safer. Our roads are repaired as required, our curbs are quickly repaired after a brutal winter of snow plowing, and potholes are quickly filled. That said, rest assured, that you always receive a personal early morning call from Tom alerting us of downed trees, power failures, black ice, school closings, and other hazardous conditions that we should be made aware of.

The downtown beautification program is a huge success, which has made our town a beautiful place to visit and shop, as I’m certain it will be an ongoing work in progress. The completion of Strong Field is also a huge success, and it’s something that all visiting teams admire and enjoy. It’s the envy of the state.

This is obviously all a reflection of real leadership and competent management by our current first selectman. Tom is a sincerely hardworking man doing an excellent job. I give Tom Banisch an “A” on his score card, and I will be voting to re-elect Tom on Nov. 5.
