Not a Newcomer

As a candidate for the Deep River Board of Finance, I am writing to introduce myself and ask for your readers’ votes on Nov. 5. After raising our family in Old Saybrook, my husband Greg and I moved back to my hometown more than five years ago to the charm and quality of life in Deep River.

I am not a newcomer to public service, having served as the chairman of the Old Saybrook Board of Education as well as past president and board member of the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce for several years. In my professional life, I serve as a regional director for Travelers overseeing a team in New York City, Hartford, and upstate New York. Small towns throughout the state are impacted by the decline of municipal aid and the growing list of unfunded mandates. You have my commitment to seek opportunities to increase efficiencies and offer creative solutions to ensure we control our taxes and continue with the small town community and lifestyle we all enjoy.
