Knowledge and Commitment

I am writing this letter to share my strong endorsement for Katie Balestracci for a third term on the Guilford Board of Education. She has a long history of volunteering for Guilford education starting as a PTO president in 2005. She has the experience of serving on the Board of Education for the past eight years and has served on many committees and initiatives that have helped to make Guilford a leader in the state in education.

I served with Katie on the board and know that she is consistently well prepared for every meeting and she does her research for every effort of the board. We served together on the Policy Committee and I was always impressed with her knowledge and commitment. She was an early supporter of the full-day Kindergarten initiative and has been a strong supporter of the work the system has done with high-potential learners. She also listens well to the people in the community such as the school start time issue and was a strong advocate for them.

If we want to stay a top school system in the state, we need to keep people like Katie Balestracci on the Board of Education. I intend to vote for her and I hope your readers will also.
