Experienced, Dedicated People

As a member of Deep River’s government, in a variety of capacities, for the last 12 years, I wish to express the need for experience and professional government.

Much has been said recently via letters to the editor. Included in the letters are statements subject to debate. For my part, I deal with nearly every facet of Deep River’s government on a weekly basis. I can tell you that there is a lot of good work being done. There are scores of good employees, elected officials, and volunteers who do their jobs day in and day out. We have many commissions, boards, and committees that run very smoothly and always professionally. How do I know? Because I belong to a few of them and attend many other meetings as well. This I do in the name of good government, and to be honest, an holistic interest in my town.

There are also problems (there are always some) and divisive opinions. Working within the government is not easy (this is not news). Tight finances at the state level make local government more difficult than ever. All of the current elected officials have worked hard to bring sound government to as large a swath of Deep River’s citizens as they can. I am proud to be part of this and our town’s overall success.

I encourage voters to return their Democratic incumbents. This is not a time for experimenting nor for the inexperienced newcomer. We have a few serious issues and need experienced, dedicated people to create solutions and continue our town’s solid progress.
