We would like to voice our wholehearted support of John DellaVentura as a candidate for Guilford’s Board of Education. John is an experienced and forward-thinking team player. He is thoughtful, studious, and always committed to reaching agreed upon goals. We know this not only as John’s friends, but also as colleagues who have had the pleasure of working with him on several important community projects.

We served with John for more than six years on the Board of Directors for Guilford Center for Children, Inc., a nonprofit organization. As vice-president and president of the Early Education and Before & After School Care program in the Guilford Public Schools, John contributed to and often spearheaded critical initiatives related to school security, teacher benefits, building positive and inclusive learning climates, and large-scale fundraising.

John’s determination and creativity were showcased in a partnership he founded between the center and Branford-based JB Sports in the annual Sea Legs Shuffle road race. Thanks to John’s vision and tireless efforts, this event has brought in more than $40,000 in scholarship and enrichment funds to Guilford Center for Children.

John is a life-long Guilford resident and devoted public servant. A natural leader, John will be fully engaged in this endeavor. We encourage your readers to join us in our support of John DellaVentura.
