Very Supportive and Generous

As chairperson of the 2019 Book Sale, I wish to sincerely thank the Branford community members for their support of our annual Book Sale fundraiser. Their gently used book donations throughout the year and your patronage during our book sale have made our fundraiser a huge success.

Thanks go to our volunteers who spent countless hours working throughout the year and during the sale in making this event a reality. I’d like to also thank the many volunteers who answered our call to lend a hand in the setup of our sale last week. With their help, we were able to setup the books under the tent in record time—it was simply magical. A special shout out goes to the students at Branford High School Horizons Program, Yale School of Management (SOM Serves), and Boy Scout Troop #604—the success of our sale could not have happened without their help.

Thanks go to our local business partners in providing their support in many creative ways. During the event, as I was sharing stories with a patron, the person told me that “the people and local businesses of our Branford community are very supportive and generous…all you have to do is ask.” How true! I’m proud to be part of such a community. I’ve personally met many new friends during our event, both young and young at heart. I had fun and I hope your readers did, too.

I encourage your readers to continue to help us by donating books for our sale, becoming involved with the friends, or simply dropping a comment via email at jbmlfriendsvolunteer@gmail.com.
