People know “Big” Steve Tracey, most obviously, because of both his larger-than-life personality and his size. However, I know him for having a very big heart.

Steve has been a long-time volunteer at Saint Vincent de Paul Church (now Saint Pio of Pietrelcina). He served on the church finance council for a number of years, helping the church navigate some very difficult times. He has also been a regular and long-time volunteer with the parish’s Bingo program.

Steve is also a very generous person. He is a regular supporter of charities and civic causes across town, including the town’s Fall Festival, tree lighting ceremony, the annual 5K road race, and a number of other sports teams, school groups, and private charities. Steve has been a success as a businessman and he has generously shared the fruits of that success with our community.

I know Steve has the business sense to help guide our community. However, being a good mayor requires not only financial discipline, but a big heart. The mayor is the biggest advocate for our community and, in light of all that he has done to support our town, I trust Steve to be that advocate for us. I’m thankful for his big heart and I encourage everyone to cast their vote for him in the Nov. 5 election.
