Significant Positive Influence

I am writing in support of the reelection of Suzanne Sack to the Regional School District 17 Board of Education. Suzanne has had a significant positive influence during her four years on the board, and I am delighted that she has decided to seek another term.

Suzanne came to the board following a highly successful career as a business executive in financial services. She has used this wealth of experience to influence and improve how the board operates, and has been an integral part of board accomplishments over the last four years. Suzanne’s decision-making process is based on research and rigorous examination of available facts and she is a strong collaborator to arrive at the answer that best reflects the entire board’s view.

Her contributions can been seen in the day-to-day operations of the board. As chair of the Finance Committee, Suzanne has worked tirelessly to keep spending increases below one percent while continuing to expand and improve educational offerings. As a member, then chair, of the Personnel and Evaluation Committee, she has helped negotiate contracts with all of our unions and superintendent.

In addition to her practical knowledge, Suzanne is also a strategic thinker. She facilitated board conversations on strategic planning, and is currently leading the board through a process to set long-term goals in order to sustain the district’s success.

I have been impressed by the energy and long hours she dedicates to her role on the board. I find Suzanne to be engaged, thoughtful, level-headed, and considerate of all points of view and an excellent communicator. The Killingworth community would be fortunate to have Suzanne continue as a representative to the RSD17 Board of Education.
