Honesty, Integrity, and Openness

As a resident of Branford’s Fifth District, I will be casting my votes for Kathi Traugh, Tracy Everson, and Laura Noe to represent me on the Branford Representative Town Meeting (RTM) on Nov. 5. I can think of no other candidates who personify the honesty, integrity, and openness that Branford sorely needs in its elected officials.

A current member of the RTM and former member of the board of selectman in Madison, Kathi Traugh knows how to get things accomplished in a collaborative and transparent manner. Her commitment to Connecticut residents is exemplified in her professional career at the Yale School of Public Health.

Tracy Everson has deep roots in Branford going back several generations. Her commitment to the betterment of the community is proven by serving as the vice-president/membership chair of the Friends of the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library, first vice-president of the Thimble Islands Association, and as the Thimble Islands Association representative to a Coastal Vulnerability Working Group organized by current RTM member Peter Henschel.

Laura Noe is a member of the Branford Green Committee and is on the board of directors for the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative. She cares deeply about Branford’s public school system and its provision of quality education, as it did for her own son. She has written two books, one of which focuses on her brother’s struggle with mental illness. She is a compassionate woman who deeply cares about those living in Branford. In her own words, she is dedicated to “giving back to the community that has served me so well.”

I encourage your readers to join me in voting for these three extraordinary women on Nov. 5.
