Believe in Giving Back

My name is Thomas Stevenson and I am a lifelong resident of Old Saybrook and a Vietnam-era Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. I have served in the criminal justice field for 35 years, mostly working in detecting financial fraud, a career from which I retired. I believe in giving back to my community, which is why I served on the Old Saybrook Historical Society Board of Trustees for six years and have served on the Board of Directors for the Old Saybrook Riverside Cemetery for more than 10 years.

I have been elected to two, four-year terms on the Board of Finance and now seek to serve another four year term this Nov. 5. On the Board of Finance, I serve as one of two liaisons from the Board of Finance to the Board of Education. I am always trying to balance what the town needs and what the taxpayers can afford.

With my fellow Board of Finance candidates Carol Rzasa and Rick Swan, I ask for your readers’ support on Nov. 5. I also want to put in a plug for the Fortuna team. I commend them for the efforts that they have put into the town making it an affordable place to live and grow.
