A Valuable Contribution

My name is Bruce Farmer and I’m a candidate for the police commission in Clinton. With my background and experience, I truly believe I can make a valuable contribution to the commission and to our great police department.

Some of my qualifications include municipal government leadership experience, working as a distinguished insurance professional specializing in catastrophic loss of life management, being familiar with the National Incident Management Systemand Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and being a certified management meeting facilitator.

If I am elected to the police commission (which would be an honor ), my initial objectives will be to create effective innovative community outreach to include young adults and to provide superior police services with compassion and respect for all; to set educational goals for our police commission members to increase their knowledge base in order to meet top standards for their mission and responsibilities, which will enable them to make a greater contribution to the Police department; and employ best practices for safety and security of our community, including a cyber security task force .

I have served on Inland Wetlands Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Board of Finance and as first selectman. Part of my administrative duties included knowledge of police department budgets, contracts, staffing, the fleet, equipment, and benefits, etc.

I am very focused and goal-oriented and operate within budgets. I also volunteer my time to churches and non-profits and as an advocate for senior citizens.

I ask for your readers votes so that I can serve our community in the capacity as a police commissioner.
