A New, Stronger Chapter

Guilford needs a school mascot that inspires pride and belonging. The generic Indian that we have now only inspires apologies and explanations.

The great mascots bring people together and serve as rallying points for teams and communities, not endless discussions that include phrases like “not that bad” or “could be worse.”

Inspiring mascots show up at games. Ours can’t. The Indian hasn’t shown up at a game in decades, until, perhaps, a couple of weeks ago.

Let’s start a new, stronger chapter with a bold statement of which our children can be proud. The creative search for a new mascot will show our children something positive, be a breath of fresh air, and could easily be lots of fun.
