A Forward-Thinking Alternative

I encourage your readers to join me in voting for the candidates from the Green Party of Clinton in the town election on Nov. 5. I am supporting the slate of Green Party candidates headed by Eric Bergman, who is running for the new Town Council.

The Green Party candidates are intelligent, informed, hard-working individuals who are committed to helping Clinton, become a town that we all can be proud of. For instance, James “Jim” Connolly organized the successful community effort to block the environmentally destructive industrial waste recycling facility on the wetlands of Route 145.

The Green Party candidates worked with Democrats and Republicans in moving the town forward to a town manager form of government. The Green Party candidates are a diverse group of town residents who share values of fairness and open government. The Green Party candidates believe in conserving resources (economic as well as environmental), promoting responsible economic development that benefits everyone, not just the chosen few, establishing a senior center in our town, and ending cronyism and nepotism in town politics.

With our new form of town government, it is time to break out of the old two-party system, and bring in a forward-thinking alternative, which is the Green Party of Clinton.
