Dedication, Understanding, and Advocacy

As a 14-year member and current chair of the Killingworth Board of Finance, I encourage your readers to return Marcel Couture and Robert Rimmer to the board with their vote on Nov. 5. Both have served with a rare combination of dedication to our work, nuanced understanding of Killingworth’s fiscal needs and procedures, and advocacy for Killingworth’s taxpayers.

Rob Rimmer, who currently serves as vice chairman, also offers considerable legal expertise as a practicing attorney, exacting attention to detail, and incisive analytic skills. He balances his focus on big-picture issues in Hartford and beyond with those at the local level. His sharp ear for the day-to-day concerns of town residents brings a valuable perspective to our deliberations.

Marcel Couture, Board of Finance secretary, has extensive business management experience, with responsibility for the financial and organizational execution of major investments in capital equipment and infrastructure for large-scale operations. He is a congenial colleague who evaluates every aspect of often-complex choices before arriving at his always well-informed opinion.

Killingworth is fortunate to have Marcel Couture and Robert Rimmer as active contributors to our town, and as elected Democratic members of the Board of Finance. It has been my pleasure and a privilege to serve with them, and I hope your readers will ensure that we all benefit from their continued contributions over the next four years by voting for them on Nov. 5.
