A 360-Degree View

On Sept. 5, I celebrated my anniversary with my husband of 33 years. His name is Bill Cummings. I grew up in Old Saybrook and my family has lived in Westbrook for more than 30 years. Bill and I have been fortunate enough to have moved back to Westbrook in 2016. As a past member of the Preston Redevelopment Agency, Bill decided he wanted to become a member to the Westbrook Republican Town Committee (RTC) to stay involved in the town he lives in. The RTC welcomed him in. Now Bill Cummings is running for a seat on the Board of Finance.

My husband is not a seasoned politician. He is a seasoned business man. He currently holds two vice president of operations positions with two separate companies in one corporation. He has worked budgets, project management, and financial planning for his entire career. One of his favorite lines to his employees is to always seek out the root cause to an issue and qualify and quantify the findings. He likes to vet out issues and approach things with a 360-degree view.

He graduated from Quinnipiac College (now University) with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and earned an MBA from Cappella University.

Bill sees the successes of the town of Westbrook and is eager to continue the practices for fiscal conservancy. He has always been a coach, mentor, and member of some team or group for as long as I have known him. I am convinced he will take on this role at the Board of Finance with the same dedication that he taken on in everything in his life.

I hope your readers will join me in voting for my husband, Bill Cummings, for Board of Finance on Nov. 5.
