Will Work Hard

I am a first-time candidate running for Killingworth town treasurer. I have had the privilege of living in Killingworth for 32 years with my husband, Joe, and our daughter, who currently lives in Windsor.

I have a bachelor’s degree in human services from Albertus Magnus College. My professional experience is primarily 36 years with AT&T (SNET/SBC/AT&T), from which I retired. During my years with AT&T, I was in many customer related positions: customer service representative, marketing sales, account manager, and also computer programmer. After leaving AT&T, I processed payroll for a company in Middletown for its 200 employees located in three states. It was critical to accurately verify, prior to submission, hours worked, time off, medical coverage, along with any aspect affecting an employee’s pay. An accounting of all payroll and expenses then had to be reconciled and reported to the CFO.

I currently cover various departments at Killingworth Town Hall when required for vacations, illnesses, etc. I have been a volunteer district coordinator and instructor for the past six years with the AARP Driver Safety program and volunteer at Ivoryton Playhouse as an usher. I am an associate member with the Killingworth Historical Society.

When the opportunity to run for Killingworth town treasurer was presented to me, I first ensured I had the qualifications needed to perform the duties. I believe my previous experience has prepared me well to serve Killingworth and its residents as town treasurer. I will work hard to provide the service each resident has a right to expect from their elected officials.

I hope I have your readers’ support and votes on Nov. 5.
