The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. If you believe local reporting is important and you're able to lend support during this pandemic, click here for info on making a tax-deductible donation.

The Deep River Democrats are proud to introduce a slate of candidates for the Nov. 5 election including Angus McDonald for first selectman and Duane Gates for selectman. These candidates will continue the Democratic tradition of a mature and results-oriented approach that Deep River deserves.
As an example, under Angus and Duane’s leadership, Deep River has held the mill rate flat but still continued community investment as Connecticut’s financial commitment to our town has shrunk. This has allowed Deep River to maintain a strong financial outlook while still fully serving the whole town.
The Deep River Democrats, and our candidates, have always worked together to keep our community stable and strong and we will continue that tradition in 2019.
We appreciate and thank Deep River for its continued support. I encourage your readers to feel free to reach out to us anytime with your input and feedback.
