Can Get the Job Done

As a candidate for the Town Council, I would like to highlight some facts about myself. I have lived in Clinton since 1966 with my wife Betty. I served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. My service to our community started in 1988. I served on the Park & Recreation Commission for 14 years,on the Board of Selectmen for 4 years, and the Board of Finance for 9 years. I am presently on the Capital Expenditures Committee.

My service also includes being on numerous building committees from recreational facilities to school and town projects, most noteworthy as a member of The Morgan School Building Committee. I have served on two charter study commissions and was chairman on the commission that changed our charter to a town manager/town council form of government. I am presently on the Town Manager Search Committee, which is in the process of finding candidates for that position.

The main reason I am running for the Town Council is that, with my combined town government experience and my knowledge of how the town manager/town council should work, I can ensure that the transition to that form of government will be smooth and successful, as well as implementing the other important charter changes.

My reputation is known to all that I can get the job done by working well with others. Some examples are getting ordinances passed to give tax relief and tax deferrals to the elderly and disabled, and also overseeing construction projects to ensure they came in on time and within budget while delivering a quality product to the community.

Therefore I am asking voters to please support me by voting for me for both the four-year and two-year terms.
