Planning and Leading

I am happy to support Peggy Lyons for first selectman. Madison is facing many changes—in our schools and aging taxpayers and from the effects of the climate crisis. We need a leader who has proven skills in planning and leading. Peggy is a former successful finance professional in companies that demand strategic thinking and collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers. Madison needs such a person who carefully watches our finances so that taxpayers are not surprised by capital expenditures not included in the annual budget, as has been happening.

I am also impressed by Peggy’s active involvement in several areas of town government. She currently serves on Madison’s Police Commission as its secretary. Her previous service on the Board of Finance and the Economic Development Commission are just the breadth of hands-on experience that Madison needs in a first selectman. I encourage Madison voters to consider how the upcoming election is an opportunity to elect the solid leadership of Peggy Lyons needed in these challenging times.
