Do you purchase FEMA flood insurance? Do you know that Guilford property owners in special flood hazard areas are receiving a five percent discount on their flood insurance premiums? The discount is available due to the town’s efforts to qualify for FEMA’s Community Rating System (CRS).

The Guilford Hazard Mitigation Commission will sponsor a Public Forum on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Nathanael B. Greene Community Center.

The forum discussion topics will include information about the CRS, FEMA flood zones, evacuation routes, and how to prepare for various types of natural disasters, as well as other topics.

The Guilford Hazard Mitigation Commission hopes that your readers will take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to better protect themselves and their property before, during, and after a natural disaster occurs.
