It Takes a Team

I am very proud of our 2019 slate of candidates for this November’s municipal elections. I write this not only in my capacity as chair of the Killingworth Democratic Town Committee and member of the Board of Finance but also as a “new” resident of 20 years.

I am grateful for all incumbents who have already contributed hundreds of hours and boundless energy to our town and for the new candidates who are eager to bring their talents to positions for which they are uniquely suited. Knowledge and experience bring a steadiness to town governance that has resulted in a stable mill rate, a smooth-functioning and welcoming Town Hall, and a school system of which we can all be proud. This is a slate that knows the challenges facing us and that will work to keep our taxes low while continuing to provide the excellent services our townspeople expect.

It takes a team to run a town and under the continued leadership of First Selectman Cathy Iino and Selectman Louis Annino, Jr. this slate of candidates will take us through the next two years with the community spirit and integrity they have always shown. In the weeks ahead, experienced candidates and those stepping up for the first time will introduce or reintroduce themselves through letters such as this. The Killingworth Democratic Town Committee’s website and Facebook page have their bios as well.

We will be introducing our entire slate of candidates to all of Killingworth in as many ways as we can. A meet and greet is in the works for Sunday, Sept. 22. We will also be willing participants in all debates and forums. And, of course, we hope to see everyone at the busiest place in town, Recycle Way.
