Grateful to All

Once again, the Scranton Library Friends book sale was a success, raising almost $5,000 for the library. Volunteers sorted books, CDs, and DVDs; set up and took down tents and tables; and manned the sale. Patrons were pleased to find good bargains at half price for this sale. The friends are grateful to all the people who have donated books for the sales, and for all those who came to buy books at a great price.

Thirty-seven people worked to make the sale a success. Led by our chairman, Jen Thompson, they are Kurt Alletzhauser, Liz Attebery, Meg Berlin, Marsha and Tom Brunelle, Barbra Buckley, Marta Carbone, Beth Cerny, Paula Chabot, Colleen Cummings, Doris DeWees, Joan Filbey, Marianne Frost, Susannah Graedel, Caroline Guenther, Jim Harris, Helen Kitzman, Sandy Long, Carollyn Martinelli, Fillmore McPherson, Arline Morrissey, Ingrid Oris, Mary Osterman, Mary Ouimet, Jean Pfeifer, Connie and Mike Piccione, Betsey and Harry Piner, Hank Robinson, Marie Rohland, Joyce and Jerry Rourke, Carmela Scialabba, Sally Slomba, Diane Vanacor, and Eleanor Watt.

There will be three more book sales this year. Each sale will be for one day only, on Fridays, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, and Nov. 15. The sales will be held at the cottage behind the closed laundromat on Bradley Road.

A big thank you goes to our wonderful volunteers and to our patrons.
