Character and Integrity

On Sept. 10, the Republicans in town will vote for who they want to lead the ticket in November. This vote is important and every Republican should turn out, for it’s up to them to decide the party’s candidate. They will pick from two, myself and Steve Tracey.

While I don’t claim to be the town’s savior and I can’t solve all of East Haven’s problems, nor will I promise such, I can promise to push the Town Council to do what it was elected to do and that is fix things like the beach parking problems and repair the towns ball fields that are in deplorable condition.

My big issues are the town’s first responders and the infrastructure they work with. Public Works equipment is being held together with bubble gum and Band-Aids. I will make sure they have what they need to perform the job they were hired to do. Roads being re-paved only when state money appears is unacceptable. All this can be done without draining the town’s rainy day funds.

Tracey is making the same old political pandering for votes promises, like “Elect me and I will bring in new businesses” or “I will revitalize the RT-80 corridor”—all the same old, familiar, wonderful election promises that are actually meaningless.

If Tracey is elected, will East Haven revert back to “pay to play” as in years past? What promises has he made for votes?

I’ll make no deals to get elected. What I do bring with me is my character and integrity and I have no hidden baggage or a past I need to explain.

So, exactly what does Tracey bring to the table? I am your readers’ best candidate.
