A Real Short Memory

It has always amazed me, when it comes to politics, how quickly people forget their past when promoting themselves for an elected position.

It appears that Steve Tracey has reached out to all East Haven Republicans via a mailing and in a composed letter signed by him, he kept referring to himself in a way I found somewhat strange. I mention strange for he referred to himself as the only “real Republican” in his quest to be mayor.

He made this reference to himself as the only real Republican not just once but twice. I think he was trying to imply that his challenger in the upcoming Sept. 10 primary, Sal Maltese, was not a real Republican, for Maltese ran as a Democrat in the last election. Like that party change was a no-no and anyone who changes parties can’t be trusted.

Really! I guess Tracey has a real short memory when it comes to what he considers political death. I guess it is up to me to remind him of his own political past.

According to the connvoters.com website, which lists all registered voters in the state, where they live, etc., and most important their party affiliation, I found the information on Steve Tracey very interesting.

For someone who now refers to himself as the only real Republican in this year’s race, maybe he can explain to the Republican voters why, on June 19, 2013, was he a registered Democrat? On Dec. 2, 2014, why was he a registered Democrat? Then explain why on Dec. 2, 2016, he switches to the Republican party.

I guess it’s okay for him to switch parties for his political desires. Isn’t there a word for someone like that?
