The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. I want to thank you, on behalf of the all animal lovers that your paper serves, for the amazingly comprehensive article on taking care of one’s dogs during the fireworks and storms [June 26, “Celebrate Summer But Don’t Forget Your Furry Friends”]. The article, by Karena Garrity, was as comprehensive an article as I’ve ever read on the various effects weather and noises have on dogs, including static from lightning, a sensitivity to dew points dropping, and the noise of thunder and fireworks.
Karena Garrity did an amazing and thorough job in her research and writing of her article, and you gave her the necessary space in which to publish it. And, I have to mention that the graphics—the way the photos were positioned—was too cool for words!
It was very helpful and a delight to whomever read it and followed its advice.
