08/21/2019 08:00 AMAm I the only one that is baffled and somewhat appalled at the adjoining billboards in Deep River that are just north of exit 4? One is a call for teachers, and the other is an advertisement for help to navigate marijuana use.
Oy vey. No wonder our young people are wandering and wondering.
For the last 40 years, I have been teaching adolescents with substance abuse and mental health issues. One recent comment by a student went like this: “I stopped playing football when I started smoking pot...I lost all my motivation, and I loved football...”
Just a crazy visual contradiction. Maybe we need to look at the messages that we are sending.
