We would like to send out a big thank you to the Deep River Ambulance Company, the Deep River Fire Department, First Selectman Angus McDonald, and all of the Town Hall folks who helped make the 2019 Deep River Muster a safe and orderly success given the extenuating circumstances with the excessive heat. We recognize the planning and coordinating it took to strategically place EMTs and the other volunteers throughout the muster parade route to give assistance where and when needed. They, too, felt the heat however they kept up their invaluable service and professionalism well into the evening where it was duly needed.

A special thanks to our constables, Ray Sypher and Pete Lewis, for their quick response to tend to a guest at our Riverwind Inn who was suffering heat exhaustion and needed immediate attention. Our dedicated Deep River Ambulance team was close to follow and rendered its professional demeanor after a trying day where the team transported our guest to the hospital. A very special thanks goes to EMT Adam Shields, who arrived at the Riverwind in moments following our 911 call; he was courteous and compassionate and his first responder skills kicked in even though we could tell he was tired from a very long day of helping others.

To all of those behind the scenes who sometimes do not get recognized, we send thanks for making this special day another huge success.

Michael and Stacie DiNello
