Showed Genuine Leadership

I am writing to express my gratitude to First Selectman Tom Banisch for his leadership in recent weeks regarding the new beach pass system. Tom’s handling of the situation by requesting new recommendations from the Beach & Recreation Commission at its meeting on July 11, followed by his directives to the beach staff the next day to help keep problems at bay showed genuine leadership.

But Tom took it another step further by actually manning the gate at West Wharf Beach for eight hours on July 13.

Walking the walk, not just talking the talk: This is what true leadership looks like. I thank Tom for his continued care for our town.
