A Terrific Outcome

The Scranton Library Friends and the Scranton Memorial Library benefit from so many kind individuals. Musicians Claire and Aimee Chang of Sorelle Allegre offered three concerts to raise funds for our library. The First Congregational Church provided an excellent venue for the performances in December 2018, January 2019, and March 2019. The two sisters had set a goal of raising $3,000 for our library. The final concert ended the series with more than $3,800. Well done.

Attendees responded enthusiastically to the professionalism and astounding beauty of the concerts. Receptions after each performance allowed all an opportunity to meet and speak with these accomplished musicians.

In addition to Claire and Aimee, we are grateful to their parents, Trustees of the Library, and others who gave so generously to the effort. Please note that Sorelle Allegre will offer another performance on Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m., also at the church, to benefit the Madison Food Pantry.

Once again, directors and members of the friends helped incredibly. They include Liz Attebery, Barbra Buckley, Marta Carbone, Beth Cerny, Paula Chabot, Karen Donlon, Joan Filbey, Susannah Graedel, Vicki Littel, Joan McPherson, Connie Piccone, Betsey Piner, Joyce and Jerry Rourke, and Carmela and Roy Scialabba. Most of these volunteers did double duty and some carried off three different things to make the event a success. Their work resulted in a terrific outcome for our library, and therefore, all who benefit from the library’s services.
