What We Do Here

It’s finally the weekend and after a long hard week of work we all look forward to some time off and a chance just to relax. What happens is we wake up on Saturday morning and we find the list—the list we have been making of all the things that need to be done. This past Saturday (March 30) promised to be one of the first spring-like days we’ve seen in quite a while—definitely a day to be working in the yard.

So how to fit everything in and what happened to all those things on our list? Decisions have to be made. We sit down and try our best to figure out priorities. I’m sure that many of us would have some of the same things on our list: Go to the Transfer Station, wash the car, rearrange the shed, sweep out the garage, and many other things that just needed to be done.

I know one thing that was high on many people’s list was to make sure they went to Stop & Shop that Saturday to help donate and collect food for the Shoreline Soup Kitchen & Pantries’ Clinton Food Pantry at the Clinton Police Department and Families Helping Families’ Stuff the Cruiser Food Drive. People did show up and helped to restock the pantry shelves.

That’s what we do here in Clinton. No matter how long our lists, people in this town are never too busy when it comes lending a hand to others. That is a way of life in our town. In an ever-changing world I know that people in Clinton will always make sure that sharing with others and caring about others will always be high on their list of things to do.
