Change Will Be a Hardship

I am writing about changes that will affect dog owners who enjoy using the dog park at Young’s Pond. Usage of the park will be changed to accommodate three new lacrosse fields. Temporary fencing will be put in place to restrict dogs from the fields. Lacrosse games will occupy the park during early evening hours and weekends.

This change will be a hardship for pet owners who work during the week and for those owners who are handicapped and need a level place to exercise their dogs. Unfortunately this park is the only place in town where dogs can run free and interact with other dogs while under the supervision of their owner.

The next meeting of the Young’s Park Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28.
