Part of the Solution

Kudos to the gentleman I saw picking up trash along the East Haven Industrial Park property on Hemingway Avenue on March 12. This stretch of property is always littered with trash. Calabro Cheese Factory is the only business in the park that actively maintains its property and for that I commend them.

Today I saw a man picking up litter on the property adjacent to them; I offer him a great big “thank you.” I am not sure who he is, but he is appreciated and I am pretty sure I speak for many. I clean Silver Sands Road from Minor Road all the way to and including Cosey Beach Avenue almost on a daily basis. It is a sad commentary on today’s rude and careless society but I can’t live any differently.

I know this will sound clichéd, but if your readers are able, I encourage them to be a part of the solution, not the problem. If they are out for a walk, bring along a pair of gloves and a bag no matter what town you live in. Litter is everywhere.
