The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Committee wishes to thank all those who supported this great community event, which took place on Jan. 21. The breakfast is the shoreline’s largest celebration of Dr. King’s legacy and his enormous contribution to our nation’s efforts towards creating a society with equality and equity for all as its centerpiece.

Special thanks go to all the volunteers and sponsors whose generosity made the event possible. We applaud Branford Public Schools for allowing us to use the high school commons this year, and to Beth Chandler for her inspiring remarks.

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast is an opportunity for all of us to recommit to his belief in this years theme: “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”

We hope that this event will continue to grow and we encourage all of your readers to join us next year.
