Our Greatest Partner

For nearly 40 years, the Clinton Police Department and Clinton Social Services have collaborated together to spearhead an annual holiday toy drive to benefit children within the town of Clinton.

The toy drive was established when officers from the Clinton Police Department recognized the need, that there were many families in Clinton that truly lacked the financial ability to provide presents for their children on Christmas morning. The officers believed in their hearts that no child should have to wake up on Christmas morning and miss out on that feeling of joy and excitement that comes with opening up a Christmas present! As a result, the toy drive was established and continues to grow each and every year.

The Clinton Police would like to thank the following: Cheryl Church and the entire staff at Clinton Social Services, Dr. James Milone and his staff at Milone Chiropractic, Dave Robertson and Phyllis Shelp of Scottish Dave’s Pub, June Vigliotto and her staff at June’s Outback Pub, Denovelli’s Restaurant, Yale Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, The Cornerstone Community Church, and The Westbrook Elks #1784. There are many others out there (too numerous to mention) who have contributed throughout the years as well.

However, our greatest partner is the everyday individual citizen of the Town of Clinton. This program could not be accomplished without their support. For each and every one who took the time out of their busy schedule this time of year to selflessly purchase and then drop off a toy (or in some cases multiple toys) in the front lobby of the Police Department, we cannot thank them enough! The act of these citizens greatly personify the true meaning of the holiday spirit.
