A Wondrous Group of Volunteers

Our heartfelt thanks go out to a wondrous group of volunteers who, on Christmas morning, delivered 49 hot Meals on Wheels to Guilford residents. This annual event is heartwarming for both recipients and deliverers.

To make this even more special, charming cards, place mats, and favors from Calvin Leete, Elizabeth Adams, and Guilford Lakes school children and the cub scouts of Pack 475 decorated each meal box. Lap robes knitted by Cynthia Pallman and Paula DeMonico’s Rice Pack Pals and Comfort Quilts surprised and delighted many.

None of this would have been possible if there were not the chefs. Thanks go to Larry Santamaria and his staff for yet again creating fine holiday meals: 49 of hundreds he creates each week for our daily recipients. And thanks go to the VFW! Its facility, year after year, is a perfect staging station.
