A Strong Advocate

In the upcoming Feb. 26 special election, the people of East Haven get to choose a new state representative to send to the Connecticut General Assembly. In this regard, I am supporting Joe Zullo because he has the leadership skills, education, governmental experience, and knowledge of the town to be a strong advocate for us all.

First, I would like to extend my best wishes to James Albis, who served our community with distinction for eight years. James was a strong voice and advocate for our town. With James vacating that seat, we must now elect a new representative to follow in the footsteps of Mike Lawlor and James Albis. In this venue, I am lending my support to Joe Zullo.

I am no stranger to politics or government in East Haven or the state for that matter. I was the proud campaign manager for Mike Lawlor for most of his campaigns. I was also the director of community affairs and a political director with U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman, especially during his Senate elections and his run for vice president of the United States So I know a little about our town, elections, government, and who will make a good elected official.

Joe Zullo is a well-known civic volunteer in our town and our schools and he has also served as our town attorney. He knows firsthand the needs of our community and how to make it a better place to live and raise a family.

On Feb. 26, I encourage your readers to support Joe Zullo to be our state representative. He, like those who came before him, will lead with honesty and dignity and strive to make our community a better place.
